Earl James "Fergy" Ferguson, 93, of Aberdeen, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Groton, SD.
Earl's wishes were to be cremated with no formal services being held.

Earl James Ferguson, "Fergy", was born to Floyd and Mabel (Bross) Ferguson on a farm near Ashton, SD, on March 30, 1921. Later he moved with his parents near Cresbard, SD, where he attended school for four years before moving to Chelsea, SD.
Earl joined the National Guard 147th Unit in Aberdeen, SD, in 1940. He was sent to Fort Ord, CA, for one year, and then was sent overseas. He was honorably discharged in June of 1945.
Earl married Rose (Gabriel) Feiock on December 20, 1969. She passed away in February 1987. In 1989, he married Clara Weigel. Even though they divorced, Earl continued to care for her until both he and she entered the Golden Living Center in Groton, SD, in November 2014. Earl continued to reside there until the time of his death.
Earl worked as a VFW manager, bartender, and a lineman for several power companies before driving semis. He was a semi-truck driver until he retired in 1983. Earl was proud of the fact that while trucking, he drove over 3 million miles. After retiring, he fixed and sold lawn mowers and snow blowers.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, in 1987; one brother, Gene; and one stepson, Virgil Feiock.
He is survived by stepsons: Robert "Jim", Andrew, Lyle, Gary, and Don Feiock; one brother, Harlan of Huron, SD; and two sisters: Mary of Alabama and Helen of Oregon.
