Duane Paul Reinhardt was born to Charles and Hazel (Ott) Reinhardt on August 16, 1923, at his grandparent's log house in By Golly Creek, two miles NE of Nelson, WI. This is the area where he was raised, attended, and graduated from high school.

Duane was united in marriage to Donna Marie Brunkow on April 10, 1944, in Alma, WI. The couple farmed in Cascade Valley on his father's farm until March of 1952, when they moved to a farm near Stratford, SD. There Duane and his family farmed nine quarters of land while also operating a Grade A dairy farm and selling Grade A milk from 1963 until 1978. In addition to farming, Duane also served as Supervisor on The Township Board and as Clerk on the local School Board in East Rondel Township. In 1991, the family moved to Aberdeen, where he and Donna became the managers of the Rockford Apartments. Duane and Donna shared 58 years of marriage and raised eight children together before she passed away on May 30, 2002. Duane continued to make Aberdeen his home until the time of his death.

Duane was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Aberdeen. He loved being a farmer and tending to his livestock. Duane especially loved spending the winter months with Donna in Florida and Texas, where he was able to enjoy his favorite pastime of all, fishing.

Blessed to have shared in Duane's life are his children: Charles (Patty) Reinhardt of Salina, KS, William Reinhardt of Aberdeen, Bruce (Kirsten) Reinhardt of Castlewood, SD, Victoria (Richard) Fischbach of Mellette, SD, Mary (Aaron) Wiest of Mina, SD, and Jeana (Wayne) Graham of Brownsville, OR; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Duane was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, his parents, two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
