Douglas Albert Quiram

Douglas A. Quiram, 70, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Avantara Groton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Schriver's Memorial Chapel.

A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.

Douglas Albert Quiram was born on July 26, 1954, in Huron, SD, to Walter and Freda (Moller) Quiram. He was raised on a farm near Wolsey and graduated from Wolsey High School in 1972. Doug enlisted in the South Dakota National Guard and went to Mitchell Tech where he graduated with an electronics degree.

Doug married his high school love, Deborah LeGrand, in 1972 and moved to Aberdeen, SD, where they raised three daughters: Missy, Serena, and Ashley. Doug pursued his degree while working at Sears as an appliance technician for 14 years. He then started his own business DMS Appliance Repair. Later, Doug worked at the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired until he retired.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He had a passion for cooking and loved to cook supper for all the family to come and enjoy. After retirement, Doug would love to drive all around town, checking in on his friends and family to see if anything new was going on. Doug was a jack of all trades; he was always building or fixing things. Doug took great pride in being a grandpa and a great-grandpa.

Grateful for having shared Doug’s life are his wife, Deb Quiram of Aberdeen; his children: Missy Bumpous of Aberdeen, Serena Quiram of Aberdeen, and Ashley (Toby) Syhre of Aberdeen; his grandchildren: Alli, Brody, Damien, Jordis, Kole and Gavin; his great-grandchildren: Kiya, Kali, Lincoln, and Crue; and his sister Jill.

He was greeted in death by his parents; three sisters, Shirley, Judy, and Diane; one brother, Wally; and grandson, Parker.
