Memorial services for Doris (Arthurs) Little, 84, of Groton, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Kevin Bergeson officiating.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.
Doris’ wishes were to be cremated with interment taking place at the Mellette City Cemetery, Mellette, SD.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Saturday.

Doris passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in Groton, SD.
Memorials are preferred, in lieu of flowers, to the Mellette Community Development Foundation, PO Box 23, Mellette, SD 57461.
Doris Eleanore Arthurs was born September 15, 1932, in Mellette, SD to James and Josephine (Wendt) Arthurs. This is the area where she attended school and graduated from Mellette High School.
Doris was united in marriage to Charles Francis Little on February 1, 1955, in Bonilla, SD. The couple was blessed with four daughters: Karen, Kathy, Kay, and Kryste. While Charles tended to the farm, Doris’ focus was on caring for their children. Due to health problems, Doris later moved into the Golden Living Center in Groton.
Doris was a member of Northwestern United Methodist Church in Mellette, the Gallup Community Club, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Harris Dennis American Legion Post #151 of Mellette.
Grateful for having shared Doris’ life are her three daughters: Karen (Randy) Kienow of Aberdeen, Kathy (Bill) Steineke of Sioux Falls, and Kryste (Tim) Alexander of Blue Springs, MO; 10 grandchildren: Jessica (Jeff) Kienow-Hartman of Atlanta, GA, Amy (Brain) Kienow-Paychek of Chicago, IL, Joshua (Lauren) Nikolas of Aberdeen, Adam Nikolas of Aberdeen, Benjamin Steineke of Sioux Falls, Nathaniel (Sydney) Steineke of Sioux Falls, Joseph Steineke of Sioux Falls, Charles, Mikayla, and Isaac Alexander of Blue Springs, MO; five great-grandchildren: Eliyah, Gideon, and Eden Nikolas of Aberdeen and Ethan and Sarah Hartman of Atlanta, GA; one brother, William “Bill” Arthurs of Mellette; one sister, Irene Bye of Aberdeen; and one son-in-law, David (Cindy) Nikolas of Aberdeen.
Doris is preceded into death by her daughter, Kay Nikolas; parents, two brothers, five sisters, and one grandson, Jason Kienow.
