Donna Reed

Donna Reed, 73, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

There will be a time of remembrance and celebration of life on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 3-6 p.m. at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel.

Donna was born to Carl and Patricia (Kenny) Wright in Britton, SD, on March 31, 1951.

She attended Hecla High School and graduated in 1969.

After high school, Donna attended Stewarts School of Hairstyling. Once she obtained her degree in cosmetology, she worked for various salons for a short time. During that time, she met and married Marvin Reszler, to whom a daughter, Jodee, was born.

Donna worked various jobs over the years, including Pamida Discount Store and Sheldahl Manufacturing. Some of her more memorable or “fun” jobs were probably being a barmaid at the Mirror Bar or making suckers and candy-coated popcorn at the Fauth Candy company. She finally settled with Molded Fiber Glass, to which she was one of the first twelve employees hired. Donna stayed with the company until their closing in Aberdeen.

She enjoyed spending endless hours with the “girls” playing Skip-Bo or Phase 10. She was also an avid bingo player for years. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her dad, grandkids, and two cats.

Donna is survived by her father, Carl Wright of Aberdeen, SD; one brother, Dale (Cindy) Wright of Darwin, MN; one daughter, Jodee Cox (Marshall Rux) of Aberdeen, SD;  her grandchildren, Skylar Cox (Bryan Struckman) Watertown, SD; Morgan Cox of Aberdeen, SD; Shanda Cox of Watertown, SD; Malona Cox of Frederick, SD; one niece, Taryon (Josh) Goettl of New Auburn, MN; one nephew, Travis Wright of Dassel, Mn; one great niece Alisia Goettl of Fargo, ND; and two great nephews Blake and Colton Goettl of New Auburn, MN.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Wright, and her sister, Sylvia Wright.
