Donald D. Hepola, 82, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Nathan Henschen officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the interment at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Thursday.
Donald D. Hepola was born on August 13, 1931, in New York Mills, MN to Alfred and Elviira (Keskinen) Hepola. He was one of nine children in the family, all of which have preceded him in death. At the age of 14, Donald left home and moved to Butte, Montana.
Donald was united in marriage to Norma Knapp in Shelby, Montana on December 6, 1953. Two sons, Duane and Larry, were born to this union. Donald was a salesman for Theraco most of his life. In 1959, the family moved from Lisbon, ND to Hosmer, SD, where Donald opened the Creamery.
Following his retirement, Donald enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, and playing checkers. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid camper.
Donald is survived by his sons, Duane (Alice) Hepola and Larry (Stacey) Hepola, of Aberdeen; five grandsons: Jason, Michael, Christopher, Brandon and Jon; and two great grandsons, Shaun and Logan.
Preceding Donald in death is his wife, Norma, in 1996; six brothers, Clarence, Ruben, Edward, Roy, Wesley and Bobbie; and two sisters, Jlona and Lillian.
