Donald Dwayne Dix was born July 1, 1957, to Cal and Florence (Vogel) Dix at Aberdeen. He attended grade school at St. Mary’s and graduated from Roncalli High School in 1975. He went to Northern State University and graduated with a business degree in 1979. Don worked for Office Equipment, Quality Quick Print, and the Aberdeen American News. He married Monica (Siebrecht) Beck in July of 1983. From that union, two children were born; Erin (Dix) Neville on July 11, 1985 and Ryan Dix on September 23, 1987. On January 13, 1996, he married Deb Jundt. From that union, a daughter was born; Bailey Dix on May 30, 1997.

Don’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. One of his proudest moments was becoming a grandpa in December when his daughter, Erin, had his granddaughter, Emma. He loved when they would come to visit so he could show both of them off to everyone he knew. He would call or text daily asking how ‘Grandpa’s Girl’ was doing. He loved spending time with his son, Ryan, hunting, fishing, or just going for drives. He also loved watching Ryan play sports from the time he was a little boy, through high school and college, and even now watching him play softball. He was very proud of Ryan and enjoyed the time he, Ryan, and Grandpa Cal spent together. He was so proud of Bailey for all of her academic accomplishments. He also loved watching her compete in oral interp., act in the school plays, and sing or cantor at mass. He was looking forward to helping her select a college and watching her become successful.

Don is survived by his wife, Deb, of Aberdeen; children: Erin (Danny) Neville of Jamestown, ND, Ryan Dix of Aberdeen, and Bailey Dix of Aberdeen; one granddaughter, Emma Neville; his father, Cal Dix of Aberdeen; brothers: Mike (Vicky) Dix of Aberdeen, Tom (Terry) Dix of Sioux Falls, SD, Rich (Jenny) Dix of Aberdeen, and Kevin (Amy) Dix of Aberdeen; sisters: Jane (Max) Hammer of Mellette, SD, Patty (Craig) Simon of Aberdeen, and Shirley (Darrell) Andrud of LaMoure, ND, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
