Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the mortuary in Aberdeen.

Debra Kay (Berg) Hansen was born October 2, 1958, in Milbank, SD, to Charles and Shirley (Stenstadvold) Berg. She spent her first few years in South Shore, SD, where she was an active part of the town even though she was little! She was often spotted singing for a nickel, running down the sidewalk buck naked, or being taken to school by her big sister for "show and tell".

Deb started school in Kidder, SD, and because her father worked for the railroad, she also moved often and attended school in Forman, ND, Cayuga, ND, Doran MN, and Breckenridge, MN, before graduating from high school in 1976 from Marshall, MN. Deb then furthered her education at Stewarts School of Beauty in Aberdeen and graduated in 1977.

Deb was united in marriage to Jerome Alan Hansen on February 19, 1994. Their union was blessed with three daughters: Megan, Haley and Libby. The family made their home on a farm in rural Mina and Deb continued to reside there until the time of her death.

Deb loved gardening and working on the family farm almost as much as she loved her Diet Pepsi. Nothing, however, compared to the love for her family.

Grateful to have shared in Deb's life are her husband, Jerome Hansen of Mina, SD; her daughters: Megan Piatz of Aberdeen, Haley Hansen, a student at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, and Libby Hansen of Mina, SD; her mother, Shirley Saunders of Marshall, MN; two sisters, Kathy (Jerry) Wetterlin and Cindi (Shawn) Zwack; two brothers: Rich (Karen) Berg and Bill (Cora) Saunders; two step-sisters: Marva (Lon) Gelhaus and Darcy (Leo) Lesher; one step-brother, Barney (Robin) Dombrowe; one aunt, Grace Eclov; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Deb was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Charles and Burlene Berg and her stepfather, Selmer Saunders.
