Curtis M. Zimmerman was born June 15, 1956, in Aberdeen, SD, to Milton and Lydia (Diede) Zimmerman. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School. Later, he met Marilyn McNickle. They were married on April 25, 1987, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Curtis worked at Tonner's Piggly Wiggly, Cass's Jack & Jill and Kessler's (26 years) where he enjoyed serving, meeting, and talking with customers. He later worked for Northern State University.
Curtis enjoyed golfing and reading and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. He also enjoyed attending Barry Manilow concerts and always looked forward to the annual trip he and Marilyn took to Las Vegas. His other passion was NASCAR. He was especially fond of going to NASCAR races, as well as meeting Tony Stewart many times and having a picture taken with Tony's father, Nelson, this past March.
Curtis was preceded into death by his parents, one sister in infancy, and two cats, Murphy Joseph and Maxwell John, who were their children.
Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife of 28 years Marilyn, and numerous extended family and friends.
