Connie Jean Bell

Connie Jean Bell, 69, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Prairie Heights Healthcare.

A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen, with Pastor Rodney Johnson officiating.

A time of fellowship and a luncheon will follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary. Visitation continues one hour before the service at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel.

Connie Jean Fiedler was born on January 15, 1955, in Aberdeen, SD, to Samuel “Sam” and Myrtle (Crawford) Fiedler. She attended public schools in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1973. Connie then graduated from Lake Area Technical College in Watertown, SD, with a Medical Assistant degree.

Connie began working at Avera St. Luke’s in 1977 as a Medical Assistant.  She married Ted Bell on August 5, 1978 in Aberdeen. The couple was blessed with three children: Jason, Justin, and Maggie. Connie’s husband, Ted, passed away in 2009. She continued to make her home in Aberdeen, working in the Emergency Room, Rehab Department, and finally, the Radiology Department, where she worked until her retirement in 2017.  She was employed by Avera St. Luke’s for 40 years.  In Connie’s spare time, she loved devoting her time to her grandchildren.  Spending time with them was truly her greatest treasure.

Grateful for having shared Connie’s life are her children, Jason, Justin (Sanchel), and Maggie Bell of Aberdeen; her grandchildren: Logan, Charlie, Jaidyn, Adrian, Alyssa, and Auryanna; and her two sisters, Ardell Fiedler and Louise Peterson of Sioux Falls, SD.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, her parents, and her brother, Jerry Fiedler.
