Clifton Robert Jones

Clifton Robert Jones, 65, of Overland Park, KS and formerly Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his home.

A Graveside Committal Service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2021, at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Aberdeen, with James Crawford, CRE, officiating.

Clifton Robert Jones was born September 28, 1956, to Cecil and Evelyn (Ware) Jones in Alliance, NE.  At a young age Clifton’s family moved to Martin, SD where he was raised and graduated from Martin High School in 1974.  He attended South Dakota School of Mines and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  In 1978, Clifton moved to Houma, LA and worked in the Oil Industry.  Clifton moved to Aberdeen in 1982 and worked for the SD Department of Labor for several years.  In 1989, Clifton moved to Overland Park, KS, and worked as a software developer for several companies including Sprint and then NIC Inc.

Clifton was an avid dog lover and enjoyed being with his pets.  He also loved traveling.

Grateful for having shared Clifton’s life are his siblings, Bruce (Carol) Jones of Westport, SD, and Patricia (Steve) Fix of Springfield, OR.

Clifton was preceded in death by his parents.
