Cleo R. Letherer, 93, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Redfield, SD.
Cleo's wishes were to be cremated with no formal services being held.

Cleo R. Letherer was born on March 27, 1920 to Fern Plattner in Rapid City, South Dakota. This is the area where she was raised attended school. Following graduation, Cleo furthered her education and received an Associate Degree in Business from a local college in the Rapid City area.
Cleo was united in marriage to Dr. Richard Letherer on January 15, 1943 at Rapid City. The couple made their home in Aberdeen, where Cleo was a full time homemaker. Cleo and Richard raised three children and shared 51 years of marriage before he passed away on August 30, 1994.
Cleo became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Redfield, SD on October 23, 2012, where she continued to reside until the time of her death.
Cleo was active in the church choirs of both the Presbyterian and Methodist churches in Aberdeen and the Order of The Eastern Star. She was also very involved in her community, serving on the City Council and doing volunteer work for the Republican Party.
Cleo had a love for gardening and especially enjoyed tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking. What Cleo loved most of all, was being a wife, mother and grandmother and taking care of her family.
She is survived by three children, Dr. Richard Letherer of Newport, OR, Robert Letherer of Hollywood, CA, and Diane and Gordy Adams of Sugar Hill, GA; and three grandchildren, Nichole Letherer and Megan Adams and Ronnie Adams.
Cleo's mother, Fern Plattner; Frank Plattner, and Dr. Richard Letherer preceded her in death.
