Christina "Chris" M. (Volk) Heinz

Christina “Chris” M. Heinz, 91, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.

Her wishes were to be cremated.  A private committal service was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Christina M. Volk was born July 31, 1927, in Hague, ND to Valentine and Christina (Hilzendeger) Volk.

She married Michael K. Heinz on September 23, 1952, in Hague, and to this union four children were born.  Christina owned and operated a tarp and canvas repair shop in Aberdeen for 25 years.  She was residing at Avera Mother Joseph Manor Retirement Community at the time of her death.

In her spare time, Chris loved to cook, bake, and garden.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
