Cherrie Weisz, 79, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Aberdeen Health & Rehab.
Cherrie’s wishes were to be cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time. Instead, she hoped people would continue with their lives and focus on what is most important to them. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is honored to serve the Weisz family. Friends and family may sign the online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com.
Cherrie was born on August 24, 1946, in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She grew up in Aberdeen and spent her entire life in the community she loved.
Cherrie married Randy Weisz, and together they spent many years living in Bath, South Dakota, while working for Sperry Farms.
Throughout her life, Cherrie dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked with the elderly, served as a foster parent, and later became a foster grandmother in the Aberdeen school system, where she touched the lives of many children.
Cherrie had a deep love for creativity. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, and crafts of all kinds. She was also well known for her baking, especially the countless batches of sugar cookies she lovingly made and shared with people throughout the community. Cherrie enjoyed gardening and canning the produce she grew.
Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She faithfully followed their sporting events and spent many treasured hours caring for them and teaching them how to cook, bake, and paint.
Cherrie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirelle (Mark) Stadel, and Shanda (Bill) Bragg; grandchildren, Amanda (Zach) Stadel, Ashley (Andrew), Stadel and Alesha (Michael) Stadel, Amber (Corey) Jaragoske, Renee Bragg, and Madelyn Bragg; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Clara, Mathew, Gavin, Carter, Wyatt, Liam, Aaliyaah, and Hendrix.
