Charlton "Chuck" Arnold Pietz, 60, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Clubhouse Slough in Marshall County, SD.
His memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 South Main St., Aberdeen, with Chuck's brother-in-law, Pastor Orville Hieb, officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the church fellowship hall.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015, at the mortuary.
Charlton "Chuck" Arnold Pietz was born January 4, 1955, at St. Paul, MN to Arnold and Vera (Walth) Pietz. He grew up and attended school in Hosmer, SD, graduating from Hosmer High School with the Class of 1973. Chuck furthered his education at Northern State College in Aberdeen and earned his Bachelor's Degree.
Following college graduation, Chuck began teaching and coaching at Roslyn High School in Roslyn, SD.
Chuck was united in marriage to Cheryl Keller on August 14, 1981. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Danielle and Rachel.
Chuck then went to work in the family marble business in Hosmer. A few years later he became the co-owner of The Circus Lounge in Aberdeen, which he owned and operated for many years before he sold it.
Chuck enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. Although he passed suddenly and unexpectedly, it was while fishing, his favorite pastime of all.
Grateful for sharing in Chuck's life is his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Pietz of Aberdeen; his daughters, Danielle Pietz of Aberdeen and Rachel Pietz of Minneapolis, MN; and two sisters, Bonita (Dale) Pietz-Roesch of Hallsville, TX and Sherida (Orville) Pietz-Hieb of Minneapolis, MN.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers, Daniel and Timothy.
