Catherine "Cathy" Kay Lindemann, 55, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Pastor Kevin Bergeson officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Java, SD.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at the mortuary with a public prayer service taking place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Catherine Kay (Krause) Lindemann was born on August 10, 1960, in Mobridge, SD, to Wilbur and Mary Anne (Anderson) Krause. She was raised in the Java, SD area and graduated from Java High School.
Cathy was united in marriage to Nolan Lindemann on June 28, 1980, in Java. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Sanessa.
In 1982, Cathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Office Administration from Northern State College in Aberdeen. She then became employed at Control Data in Aberdeen and remained with them for several years. In 1989, Cathy began working as a temporary employee in the office of the Brown County Zoning and Planning department. Because of her high-quality work, she was offered a permanent, full-time position with that department and worked with them for several years before switching to the Brown County Register of Deeds office in 1996, where she remained employed until the time of her death.
Cathy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen where she was active in the Social Concerns Group and also crocheted prayer shawls for those in need. When Sanessa was a child, Cathy became very involved with the Girl Scout Program and served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She also opened her home to foreign exchange students over the years. Cathy loved traveling and attending Northern State sporting events. Above all, Cathy cherished the time spent with her family, friends, and her puppies, Luckiee and Ella. Blessed to have shared in Cathy's life is her daughter, Sanessa Lindemann of Aberdeen; her mother, Mary Anne Krause of Aberdeen; two brothers: Bill (Wendy) Krause of Tucson, AZ and Robert Krause of Stuttgart, Germany; three sisters: Cindy (Kevin) Rau of Aberdeen, Chloe Kaelberer of Las Vegas, NV, and Carla Bossman of Granite Falls, MN; many nieces and nephews; and foreign exchange students: Julianne Merkel of Germany and Anna Mathiassen of Norway.
Cathy's grandparents, father, and one brother, Bennett Krause, preceded her in death.
