Carol D. Kringstad, 66, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Pastor Rhia Strohm officiating.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the church fellowship hall.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, at the mortuary, followed by a public prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues for one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.
Carol D. (Goetz) Kringstad was born on July 30, 1949, in Mobridge, SD, to Oliver G. and Violet (Buckenberger) Goetz. She was raised and attended school in Java, SD, and graduated from Java High School. Carol then furthered her education at Pierre, SD, where she graduated in 1968, earning her L.P.N. license.
Carol moved to Aberdeen and began what would become a 25-plus year career working for the Kidney Dialysis Unit before retiring in July of 2014. While retired, Carol became a volunteer employee at the Dakota Prairie Museum and was also active in her church.
During her retirement, Carol enjoyed reading; however, her passion was spending time with her grandchildren.
Grateful to have shared Carol's life are her children: Scott (Stephani) Kringstad and Brian (Alison) Kringstad, both of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jean Kringstad of Lakeville, MN; five grandchildren: Nathan, Oliver, Lilli, Violet, and Stellan; her mother, Violet Goetz of Java, SD; and one sister, Jeanne (Tom) Saueressig of McClusky, ND.
Carol is preceded in death by her father.
