Carl Wright

Carl Wright, 95, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor.

Carl's wishes were to be cremated, and no services will be held at this time.

Carl Wright was born on March 12, 1930, to Elsie Pausch and Harry Wright. Carl worked at the landfill for 42 years and was very proud of all the awards he received there. He also worked for the highway department, the county, Parcel Erickson, and was instrumental in starting the Rural Fire Department.

Carl was known to visit with strangers, mow lawns, tell you how many sandwiches he could eat or how many TV dinners he bought. He was always bringing donut balls and Ritz crackers to everyone and telling the women they were “Pretty and kind!”

Grateful for having shared Carl’s life are his son, Dale (Cindy) Wright of Darwin, MN; grandchildren: Taryon (Josh) Goettl, Travis Wright, Jodee (Marshall Rux) Cox of Aberdeen; great grandchildren: Alisia Goettl, Blake Goettl, and Colton Goettl, Skylar (Bryan Struckman) Cox, Morgan Cox, Shanda Cox, and Malona Cox; nephew Leroy (Norma) Scott of Highmore; brother-in-law Jay Tobin and sister-in-law Kristin Tobin of Aberdeen, and many good friends and neighbors.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; first wife Patricia Wright and wife Elaine Tobin; and his daughters, Sylvia Wright and Donna Reed.
