Brian David Piatz, 52, of Mina, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen, with Fr. J. Joseph Holzhauser presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery.
A prayer service will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2013, at the mortuary. Visitation will be 5-7p.m., Monday, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday, all at the mortuary. Friends may sign his online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com.
Brian David Piatz was born on August 5, 1961 to Robert Joseph and Velma (Pfeiffer) Piatz at Aberdeen where he was raised and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1980. He moved to California where he resided for several years. He returned to Aberdeen in 1990. He his brother, Derrick started their own business called Midwest Drywall which they owned and operated together until the time of his death.
Brian enjoyed fishing and was an avid LA Dodgers and LA Lakers fan.
Surviving Brian are his mother Velma Piatz of Aberdeen, four brothers, Derrick Piatz of Mina, Keith Sahli of Aberdeen, Robb Sahli of Glendale, CA and Tom Sahli of Tujunga, CA. and one niece, Michael Marie Sahli of Tujunga, CA.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.
