Blanche I. Richardson

Blanche Irene Richardson, 87, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Blanche's wishes were to be cremated and she will be buried with her husband in Ohio. A private memorial service will be held with family to celebrate Blanche’s life.

Blanche Irene Hubbard was born on June 21, 1938, to Clyde E. and Alta Fern (Hartzell) Hubbard in Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Hobart Richardson Jr. on June 5, 1964, in East St. Louis, Illinois, with whom she shared many years of love and devotion.

Blanche is survived by her children: Esther (spouse, the late Jack Cox) Cox of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Joseph James (Diahanna L.) Cooper of Cartersville, Georgia, Dairen Keith (Tabbetha L.) Richardson of Greenville, South Carolina, and Teresa Louise (Brian) Little of Aberdeen, SD.

Blanche was the proud grandmother of Jason Cox, Joseph J. Cooper Jr., Jessica Marie Luna (Cooper), Justin Richardson, Tiffani Baldwin (Richardson), Heather Sharpe (Richardson), Scott York, Steven York, Elias Jones, Aaron York, and Desi Sundin (Jones). She was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Hobart Richardson Jr.; parents, Clyde and Alta; siblings: Arthur Hubbard, Kenneth Hubbard, Lester Hubbard, and Florence Closser; and one grandchild, Terri Lynn Cox.
