The memorial service for Billy Jo Brockel, 46, of Aberdeen, will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Rhia Strohm, of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Saturday.
Billy passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at his home.
Billy Jo Brockel was born July 20, 1968, to Theodore "Ted" and Donna (Weber) Brockel in Aberdeen, SD. He attended Aberdeen public schools and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1987. Billy then attended Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown, SD, graduating in 1992 with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. At the time of his death, he was employed by Jensen Rock & Sand Inc. in Aberdeen. Prior to that, Billy had several different jobs including driving truck.
Billy enjoyed fishing, camping, fixing things, and spending time with his "grand puppies", Shadow and Savage.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Brockel of Aberdeen; son, Corey Brockel of Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Kayla Brockel of Aberdeen; stepson, Dylan Crandall of Huron, SD; stepdaughter: Crystal Young of Aberdeen; father, Theodore "Ted" Brockel of Aberdeen; two brothers: Robert (Vickie) Brockel of Browns Valley, MN and Don (Melanie) Brockel of Aberdeen; one sister, Tammy (Dan) Manz of Aberdeen; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Billy's maternal and paternal grandparents; mother, Donna; sister, Tina; and niece, Sandra, preceded him in death.
