Our Mother, our Angel, and our Dad's "Sweetie Pie" of 55 years, Barbara Ann (Cooper) Kuntz, lost her battle with lung cancer, at the age of 72, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen on September 24, 2013.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Public visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at the mortuary.
Private family services, with Pastor Harold E. Salem presiding, will be held on Saturday, September 28th.
Barbara Ann Cooper was born in Aberdeen on November 15, 1940, to John and Bessie (Palmetier) Cooper. She attended and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1959.
Barbara was united in marriage to Bob Kuntz on November 15, 1958 in Aberdeen. They made Aberdeen their home, where they raised their five daughters: Marybeth (Jim) Bird of Aberdeen, Jodie (Craig) VanDeRostyne of Mantorville, MN, Karla Kuntz Stangl of Aberdeen, Pauline (Chris) Wallis of Thornton, CO and Paula (Greg) Hayes of Jamestown, ND.
Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed working with ceramics, making dolls, quilting, knitting and reading.
She will be truly missed by all of her grandchildren: Rob Kuntz, Katie and Johnny Walterman, Joseph, Emily, and Mark VanDeRostyne, Elizabeth and Alexandra Wallis, and Chris, Mary Anne, and Jessica Stangl; and her two great granddaughters: Rylie Stangl and Lavender Halstead.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Loretta Stebbins and Kathy Thornblad.
We, Barbara's family, wish to express our sincere appreciation for all of the loving care Barbara received from all who cared for her.
