Anne Amelia Haselhorst

July 8, 1920 — February 6, 2014

Anne Amelia Haselhorst, 93, of Aberdeen, and formerly of Warner, SD, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Mansfield, SD, with Pastor Bret Bierman officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation, at the mortuary, will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, with a public prayer service, led by Pastor Joanne Nagele, being held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Anastasia Anne Amelia Waligoski was born on July 8, 1920, to Nick and Emily (Bukosky) Waligoski in Royalton, MN. She graduated from Andover High School in 1940. Following graduation, Anne worked at various places in Aberdeen.

Anne was united in marriage to Edwin Haselhorst on March 14, 1946, in Mansfield, SD. The couple settled on his family farm in rural Mansfield and stayed there until Edwin retired in 1989, when they moved to Warner, SD. Anne and Edwin raised two children and shared almost 66 years of marriage before he passed away on February 19, 2012. That same year, Anne became a resident of Aberdeen Health and Rehab and continued to reside there until the time of her death.

Anne was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she held several offices and also taught Sunday school.

Blessed to have shared her life is her son, Milton (Rhonda) Haselhorst of Mansfield, SD; her daughter, Denice (Warren) Job of Chaska, MN; two grandchildren: Brittany and Brandon Job of Chaska, MN; one step-granddaughter, Danielle Holland of Aberdeen, SD; one sister, Elizabeth Lipp of Sioux Falls, SD; and three sisters-in-law: Marguerite Waligoske, Alice Waligoski, and Hilda Haselhorst.

Anne's parents; husband, Edwin; two brothers, Ben and Arnold; and one step-grandson, Mike Holland, preceded her in death.

Anne's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Avera Northern Plains Hospice in Aberdeen for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Anne.
