Ann Marie Zacher

Ann Marie Zacher, 85, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, at St. Gerard's Community of Care in Hankinson, ND.

Her memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Deacon Peter Mehlhaff officiating.

Ann's wishes were to be cremated with burial taking place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. Refreshments and a time of fellowship will follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred by the family.

Ann Marie (Jaeger) Zacher was born on December 25, 1929, in Berwick, ND, in Pierce County, to John and Margaret (Koenig) Jaeger. She graduated from Berwick High School with the Class of 1946. Following graduation, Ann furthered her education at Minot State University in Minot, ND.

Ann then moved to Milwaukee, WI, and it was there where she met her future husband, Aloysius "Al" Zacher. The couple was united in marriage on January 12, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI, and made their home there until 1955, when they moved to Aberdeen. Ann and Al raised three sons and shared over 59 years of marriage before he passed away on May 17, 2011. Ann remained in Aberdeen until August 11, 2015, when she moved to Hankinson, ND.

Ann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aberdeen.

Grateful to have shared in her life are her sons: Kelly (Jackie) Zacher of Wahpeton, ND and Kyle Zacher of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren: Harley (Megan) Zacher, Amanda Zacher, Kaitlyn Zacher and Sarah (Nick) Johnson; two great-grandchildren: Tristan Johnson and Ella Zacher; and four sisters: Martha DeGrave of Waterford, WI, Sylvia Brook of Burlington, WI, Lydia (Bruce) Leighton of Lake Tomahawk, WI, and Lorraine Jaeger of Denver, CO.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret; husband, Al; son, Ken; brother, Virgil Jaeger; and sister, Irene Jaeger.
