Agnes Helen Villano, 91, of Aberdeen, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 7:55 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Ave NE, Aberdeen, with Fr. Michael Griffin Officiating.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Ave NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may sign her online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com. No visitation will be held prior to the service.
Agnes Helen Huneger was born September 17, 1924, to John and Elizabeth (Senger) Huneger in Aberdeen, SD. This is the area where she was raised and attended Aberdeen parochial schools before graduating from Aberdeen Central High School.
Agnes was united in marriage to Peter Villano in November of 1946 in Aberdeen. The couple moved to New Jersey in the late 1940s, where Agnes was employed as a bookkeeper. She and Peter raised two children, Kenneth and Mary Ann, and shared 30 years of marriage before he passed away in 1975. In 1976, Agnes moved back to Aberdeen and resided there until 2001 until she moved to Hot Springs, SD, to be near her daughter. In June of 2015, both she and her daughter moved back to Aberdeen where she continued to reside until the time of her death.
Agnes enjoyed having coffee with her friends and also took great pride in keeping a tidy house.
Grateful to have shared her life is her son, Kenneth (Eleanor) Villano of Dennisville, NJ; daughter, Mary Ann Villano of Aberdeen; three grandchildren: Vickie Villano, Stephanie Boyd, and Nicholas Villano; and three great-grandchildren: Dylan Villano, Brayden Villano, and Maddox Boyd.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Jake and Joe; one sister, Rose; one infant sister; and one great-grandson, Jaxson Boyd.
