Thomas Francis Guhin was born January 14, 1948, in Aberdeen, SD, to James Stephen and Mary Alice (Bordenkircher) Guhin.  He attended Sacred Heart School before graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1966. Tom, also known as “Tiger” or “Tig” to his friends, continued his education at the University of South Dakota. He was an active and enthusiastic member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and graduated with a History degree in 1970.

Tom was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Hare on July 25, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Tom and Marg raised four children in the house he grew up in. Tom was a successful salesman with Jewett Drug Co. He kept busy cheering on his children and announcing for Roncalli High School basketball and football games.  Tom was an avid golfer and also loved being part of Northern State University’s football “chain gang”. He was a loyal and daily member of the YMCA and was honored to serve on the Aberdeen Library Board and a proud Rotarian.  Tom was a founding member of CFB.   After retirement, Tom found much happiness and joy in being a substitute teacher in the Roncalli School system.  Twelve grandchildren kept Tom and Marg busy and happy.

Blessed to have shared in Tom’s life are his wife, Margaret; his son, Scott Ashton Paul (Kimberly); daughter, Jacqueline (Nathan) Reede and their children Augustin, Maxwel, Reagan and Harrison; daughter, Roberta (Sean) Lockwood and their children Lauren, Avae and Piper; and daughter, Elizabeth (Steven) Gors and their children Claire, Thomas, Isabel, Joseph and Lucy; as well as one brother, James Steven Guhin.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Weigel; and his brothers, Michael Guhin and John Guhin.

Tom was a friend to all. He loved life, his family, and his friends. He would always put all before himself.  Tom was a man of God and is with God now.
