Terry Lee Ziegler was born December 18, 1953, to George J. and Mabel E. Ziegler in Aberdeen, SD. This is the area where he was raised and attended school.  Terry was a happy baby, and as a youngster, he loved playing kickball on the corner street with the neighbors.  When Terry was in the 6th grade, he decided that he wanted to play piano.  After taking lessons, his parents bought him a beautiful piano and Terry’s wonderful talent was evident.  He sounded just like Liberace when he played, and not only would his family gather, but the neighbors would sit outside his home and enjoy the music as well.

After attending college, Terry took over as Manager of McDonald’s in Aberdeen.  He then transferred to California and worked as McDonald’s District Manager for several years.  Terry eventually decided to leave the food industry and moved to Minnesota.  While living in Minnesota, he became an optician for Walmart, where he worked for over 20 years, until health issues forced him to retire.

In addition to playing the piano, Terry also enjoyed dancing the jitterbug in his younger years.  He loved spending time with his cat, “Punch”, and playfully called her “Stink Butt” when she misbehaved.  He was especially grateful to three special friends: Beth, Justin, and Jackie, who took very good care of him while living in Minnesota.

Surviving Terry is his sister, Debby (Don) Schlosser of Westport, SD; brother-in-law, Tom Meyers of Frederick, SD; three nieces and nephews; nephew-in-law, Jim Schemionek; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and close friends, Beth Ann Bretoi and Justin and Jackie Skjegstad of MN.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jacqueline Meyers; and one niece, Lauri A. Schemionek.

Condolences may be sent to Debby Schlosser, PO Box 974, Aberdeen, SD  57402.
