Shirley Jane Duff was born May 25, 1933 to John and Nellie (Baird) Duff near Brampton, ND, where she attended country schools.  The family later moved to Havana, ND, where she attended high school.

Shirley married Merlin Enderson July 28, 1951 at Webster, SD.  In 1955 they moved their growing family to Aberdeen when Merlin took a job with the railroad.  To this union they had six children.  Shirley started working when their youngest child started school.  She was a cook for the Aberdeen Public School District.   First at May Overby for several years, then Simmons Elementary and finally at Central High School at the time she retired.  Shirley also enjoyed working at Weight Watchers for almost twenty years where she met many new friends.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, quilting, cross-stitching, baking, gardening, and camping.  She made each of her grandchildren a quilt for their high school graduation, and sent dozens of her monster cookies to Iraq when two of her grandsons were deployed in the war.  In her retirement years she also loved walking on the bike trail, attending her grandchildren’s activities and spending time at her daughter’s ranch in Wyoming.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and we will dearly miss her.

Grateful for sharing her life are her six children: Kathy (Dan) Neiderhiser of Kennewick, WA, Carolyn (Gaylan) Williams of Torrington, WY, Keith (Sheila) Enderson of Aberdeen, Vicki (Al) Sibert of Sioux Falls, Kurt (Donna) Enderson of Chesapeake, VA and Lori (David) Lipp of Aberdeen; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her siblings; Helen (Don) Tremblay, Mary Walker, Jim (Sandy) Duff, Jack (Marge) Duff and Dennis (Vickie) Duff.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1999; two sisters, Alice Duff and June Kelley; and one son-in-law, Bobby Wade.
