Robert Wayne Schilling, 67, of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Leola, SD, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at his home in Las Vegas. His wishes were to be cremated.
Memorial services, with military rites, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2019, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5thAvenue NW, Aberdeen, with Father Michael Griffin officiating.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.
Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery, in Leola, at a later date.
Visitation at the mortuary will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Robert Wayne Schilling was born March 14, 1951, in Aberdeen, SD, to Oscar and Angela (Kessler) Schilling. He was raised and attended school in Leola, SD.
Following graduation from Leola High School, Robert entered the United States Army in April of 1971 and served his country until the time of his honorable discharge in June of 1973.
Upon his return from the military, Robert moved to Minneapolis, MN, where in 1977, he began working for Waddell Reed. In March of 1986, he relocated to Las Vegas, NV. During his 33 years of living in Vegas, Robert enjoyed working as a dealer in several casinos. He continued to reside in Las Vegas until the time of his death.
Robert was a proud member of the Roy S. Hickman American Legion Post #78 of Leola. He also enjoyed all types of sports.
Grateful to have shared in Robert’s life is his mother, Angela Schilling of Aberdeen; and one brother, Roger Schilling of Minneapolis.
Robert is preceded in death by his father.
