Monica C. Bosch, age 94 of Yankton, SD, formerly of Aberdeen, SD died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Avera Sister James Care Center.

Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 15th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father Michael Griffin as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday at the church.

Monica was born July 30, 1922 in Farmingdale, SD the seventh child of William and Cecelia (Froehle) Rogers thirteen children. She left home at a young age so she could attend high school graduating from Warner High School in 1941.

She married John Dahl Jr. in 1941 and he died April 10, 1945. Following his death she moved to Aberdeen where she met and was united in marriage to Joseph Bosch on June 18, 1946. Together they raised five children: Roger Bosch (Peggy) of Middletown, OH and their three children, Carrie, Dan and Kit; Kay (Ray) Aaro of Aurora, CO and their three children, Suzi, Lori and Rae Ann; Beverly Carter of Washington, MO, her three children, Chris, Carmen and Chad; Janice Bosch-Rogers of Ocala, FL and Wally (Teresa) Bosch of Yankton, SD and their three children, Tyler, Steven and Emily.

Monica worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses in Aberdeen ending her long career at House of Glass retiring in 1988. After her retirement she volunteered at a number of agencies including the Resource Center for Women. She was a long time member of St. Mary’s Church. She was a member of many organizations including craft clubs and Aberdeen Business Women. Monica moved to Yankton in 2007.

Monica enjoyed traveling with her husband Joe and other family members. She loved to golf, many times using Joe as her caddy. She was a long time, avid bowler in Aberdeen and bowled in many national and state tournaments. She was a gifted seamstress and loved embroidery, crocheting and crafts.

She is survived by her 5 children, her 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one sister, Pat Evans of Barstow, CA.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe in 1999, one great grandson, Zachary Carter, 7 brothers, Charles, Clem, Edward, Arthur, Joseph, Frank and William and 4 sisters, Louise, Margaret, Agnes and Josephine.
