Mitchell E. Morrison, 28, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Private family services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen, with Pastor Kevin Bergeson of Bethlehem Lutheran Church leading the service.

Mitchell E. Morrison was born May 2, 1991, to Darcy Fahlsing-Morrison and was raised by her and Robert Johnson in Aberdeen, SD. He attended Aberdeen public schools and Aberdeen Central High School. As he grew up, Mitchell was surrounded by many loving family members who cared for and helped his mother raise him, including his step-father, Terry Roettele and his aunt, Darla Beaman. Mitchell faced many challenges and struggles throughout his lifetime, but ultimately his choice to be an organ donor helped save the lives of three separate individuals and his memory will live on through them.
Some of Mitchell’s favorite hobbies included fishing, playing disc golf, working out, writing, crocheting, and doing bead work.
Surviving Mitchell are his mother and step-father, Darcy and Terry Roettele of Kansas City, MO; his father, Robert Johnson of Aberdeen; his aunt, Darla Beaman of Bath, SD; his brother, Shannon (Madison Kienow) Morrison-Johnson of Aberdeen; two sisters, Tika (Gregory) Ketterling and Aubrey (Brody Johnson) Johnson, both of Aberdeen; his step-sister, Cassandra (Don) Butler of Aberdeen; his maternal grandparents, Lyle & Sue Smith of Aberdeen; paternal grandmother, Margaret Johnson of Aberdeen; seven nieces and nephews: Ecks Morrison, Paige Morrison-Johnson, Paisley Morrison-Johnson, Madelyn Monette, Kinsley Johnson, Kayden Butler and Kylee Butler, all of Aberdeen; as well as several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mitchell is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Johnson and his cousin, Shelby Linder.
