     Marianne Agnes Piehl, 56, of Richmond Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. 

     Her wishes were to be cremated.

     Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Jeff Whillock of Bethlehem Lutheran Church officiating.  A time of fellowship immediately follows the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

     Visitation will be one hour before the service.  Friends may sign Marianne’s online guestbook and view her service via the live stream service link at www.schriversmemorial.com.

     Marianne Agnes Piehl was born September 21, 1960, in Sisseton, SD.  As an infant, she was adopted by Francis and Joyce Gleich.  Marianne and her family moved to Aberdeen, where she was raised and attended school.  Following graduation from Central High School, Marianne worked various jobs in Aberdeen.

     Marianne married James Wike in 1983 in Aberdeen.  To this union, two children were born.  

     Marianne was united in marriage to Matthew Piehl in 2003 in Aberdeen.  The addition of one stepson completed their family.   Marianne and Matthew made their home in Aberdeen.  She was employed at Great Plains Bank at the time of her death.

     Marianne loved life at the lake and enjoyed taking pictures of the beautiful sunsets there.  As a child, she enjoyed raising and riding horses.  Marianne loved traveling and always looked forward to her yearly trips to Mexico with her close friends, Janea and Donna.  Above all, Marianne loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

     Grateful to have shared in Marianne’s life are her husband, Matthew Piehl of Richmond Lake; son, Dylan (Whittney) Wike of Portland, OR; daughter, Leighann (Gerrit) Boone of Amherst, SD and stepson, Adam Piehl of Britton, SD; grandchildren: Aden Godel, Kalen Godel, Skyler Godel, Jasmine Boone, Lorelai Piehl and Adeline Piehl; one sister, Jane (Dan) Campton of Aberdeen; one brother, Richie Tiger of Peever, SD;  and nephews:  Jarred (Vy) Campton, Matthew Campton and Nathan Campton.

     Waiting in heaven to greet Marianne are her adoptive parents, her birth mother, and two birth sisters.
