Margie A. “Midge” Schnaidt, 68, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2019, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Mike Waldrop, of First United Methodist Church, leading the service.

Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, with a luncheon and time of fellowship following at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

Visitation at the mortuary will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Margie A. “Midge” Robinson was born January 1, 1951, in Estherville, IA to Robert and Ruth (Anderson) Robinson.  While she was an infant, Midge moved with her parents to the Barnard/Frederick, SD area. The family then moved to Aberdeen, where she attended Brookside Country School until the 8th grade, Aberdeen public schools, and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School with the Class of 1969.

Margie was united in marriage to Darrell Schnaidt on February 12, 1972, in Aberdeen.  The couple made Aberdeen their home, where she was employed as the Office Manager for the Food Service Department at Northern State University for 32 years.

Midge loved many things in life, especially children.  She could play with them at any age level and the kids loved that about her.  Midge also loved fishing and spending time at Akaska, SD, where she out-fished her husband most of the time.  In her spare time, she also enjoyed reading, playing trivia games, and watching the Minnesota Vikings.  Midge’s greatest joy, however, was her three grandchildren.  She loved watching them grow up to be outstanding students and enjoyed cheering them on in activities including football, basketball, baseball, and roller derby.

Midge fought a courageous five-year battle with cancer.  She faced it head on, never once complaining.

Midge is survived by her husband of 47 years, Darrell Schnaidt of Aberdeen; her daughter, Nicole (Brad) Southwick of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren:  Emma, Grady and Maggie Southwick, all of Sioux Falls; her brother, Robert (Beverly) Robinson of Rochester, MN; her sisters, Dona (Gene) Lytle of Aberdeen and Mary Merchant of Sturgis, SD; mother-in-law, Viola Schnaidt of Aberdeen; brother-in-law, Kurt (Darlene) Schnaidt of Aberdeen; and sister-in-law, Angie (Revi) Schaible of Aberdeen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Midge was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery; her parents, Robert and Ruth; her siblings:  Richard, Dennis, and Joan; and her father-in-law, Robert Schnaidt.
