Margaret Catherine Moffenbier was born to Katherine (Lyczewski) and Leonard Lowenstein on September 11, 1926 in Ipswich, SD.

Margaret married the love of her life, Philip Moffenbier, on March 8, 1947, in Aberdeen, SD.  They made their home in Aberdeen where they raised their eight wonderful children.  Together, they owned and operated Moffenbier’s Cleaning Service for 35 years. They sold their business, retired, and moved to Brighton, CO to live with their daughter, Marcia.  In 2001, they moved to Spring Lake Park, MN to live with their daughter, Linda.  Philip lost his battle with Parkinson’s Disease on February 2, 2005.  They were married for 57 blissful years.

Margaret was a member of the Sertoma Club and the Red Hat Ladies.  She was an avid bowler and loved to travel to see her family. She was a devout Catholic and loved to attend church.

To know Margaret, was to know you were in the presence of someone spectacular. She was a care giver to all.  She loved to cook and made sure you never went hungry. She would welcome you into her home and her heart with open arms.  She loved whole-heartedly.  She had the best sense of humor and an infectious laugh that could light up the world.  She passed these traits on to her beloved family. Family and friends were her passion and delight; her whole world.  She never missed sending out a birthday or Christmas card until her later years.  She truly blessed everyone’s life by simply just being in their life.  She will be greatly missed by so many.

Blessed for having shared her life are her children: Linda Laun of Coon Rapids, MN, June (LeRoy) Rohrbach of Chandler, AZ, Marcia (Vern) Berreth of Brighton, CO, Alan Moffenbier of Mesa, AZ, Paul (Toni) Moffenbier of Everett, WA, Sharon Moffenbier of Thornton, CO, and Rita Moffenbier of Coon Rapids, MN; a granddaughter, Kathy (Darin) Gonsor of Sioux Falls, SD, who they helped raise for sixteen years; one sister, Barbara Finley of Aberdeen, SD; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; their daughter, Phyllis Kay; her parents; two brothers, John Lowenstein and Donald (Doc) Lowenstein; two sisters, Amelia (Amy) Barnes and Leona Lowenstein; two daughters-in-law, Cindy Moffenbier and Carolyn Moffenbier; one son-in-law, Ed Laun; two grandsons, Eric Laun and Brandon Bowman; and one granddaughter, Cindy Rohrbach.
