Kim passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, with her little brother, Kristopher, by her side and representing his family well.

Kimberlie Ann (Walter) Brown was born on July 9, 1966, in Chula Vista, CA.  She grew up in Aberdeen with her father, Jerome Walter, her mother, Gloria Hayenga and three brothers:  Greg Hanson, Kris Walter and Kelly Walter.  Kim attended Howard-Hedger Elementary School, Holgate Junior High and Aberdeen Central High School before furthering her education at Northern State University in Aberdeen and at college in St. Cloud, MN.

Kim married Bill Brown and the couple had one daughter, Ashley (Brown) Longoria.  The adoption of a son, Mathew Walter-Brown, completed their family.  Ashley later had a daughter, Lily Ann Longoria, who was also very much loved.

Kim held various jobs throughout her life.  Her first job was selling women’s clothing at Sharon’s on Main in Aberdeen.  She later worked at Lager’s Inn, where she became a well-known waitress.  Most recently, Kim was employed as a customer service representative at Wyndham Hotel Group.   The most important job to her, however, was being a mother and a grandmother.

There was never a doubt that Kim loved her family with her whole heart.  She greatly enjoyed spending time with her daughter and helping take care of her granddaughter.  Kim also loved her brothers very much and always had loving words of encouragement for them.  She had a heart of gold and left an imprint on everyone she touched.  Kim loved helping others that were less fortunate than her and never turned a blind eye to anyone in need.  She also loved learning.  In her spare time, Kim enjoyed crocheting and visiting with friends.

Thankful to have spent time with Kim and shared in her life are her daughter, Ashley Longoria; granddaughter, Lily Ann Longoria; her father, Jerome Walter; her mother, Gloria (Don) Hayenga; and three brothers:  Greg (Kim) Hanson, Kelly (Dodi) Walter and Kristopher (Eliza) Walter.

Kim was preceded in death by her son, Mathew Joseph; her grandson, Johnny Ray; her paternal grandparents; and her maternal grandmother.

She will truly be missed by all her family and friends.
