Kenda Ann Hoff was born March 11, 2005, in Odessa, Texas to Kenneth A. Hoff and Teri (Chase) Hoff McDougle.  In 2007, Kenda moved with her family to South Dakota.  She started pre-school with Sherilyn Peterson at her home daycare.  Kenda then attended kindergarten at Northwestern School in Mellette, SD, before moving to Aberdeen, where she became a student at Simmons Elementary School.  Kenda was currently attending Holgate Middle School at the time of her passing.

Kenda sang with Holgate Harmonies and played violin in the school orchestra.  She also was a member of Dakota Horizons Girl Scout Troop 40141.

Kenda, whose name means “child of cool clear water”, loved the outdoors.  She enjoyed hunting with her dad and family, camping, and swimming.  She especially loved spending time with her friends and family.

While attending Simmons Elementary School, Kenda received the “Kindness Award” in 5th Grade.  She will be forever remembered as a sweet girl who could always put a smile on your face and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Blessed to have shared Kenda’s life are her father, Kenneth Hoff; her mother, Teri (Scott) McDougle; her paternal grandparents, Tom and Doris Hoff, all of Aberdeen; her maternal grandparents, Lyle and Wanda Chase of Sturgis, SD; her aunt, Susan Hoff; and her uncles:  Jon Hoff, Chad Griswold, Doug Griswold and Corky Griswold.

Kenda is preceded in death by her paternal and maternal great-grandparents; one uncle, Jamie Hoff; one great-uncle, Gary Chase; and two great-aunts, Koreen Jonas and Virginia Chase.
