Joy Ann (Bahl) Schweigert, 71, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Prairie Heights Healthcare in Aberdeen.
Joy’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services being held.
Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Joy Ann Bahl was born March 25, 1948, in Fergus Falls, MN to Elwin and Viola (Barth) Bahl. She attended school in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School with the Class of 1966.
Joy was united in marriage to Floyd Schweigert on August 31, 1968. The couple was blessed with three wonderful kids. The family made their home in Aberdeen, where Joy was employed at Hub City Iron, Federal Land Bank, Aberdeen Living Center and Ronayne and Wein before retiring in 2016.
In her spare time, Joy enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing Bingo and cards. Above all, Joy loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed watching her grandkids in every sport they participated in.
Surviving Joy is her husband of 51 years, Floyd Schweigert of Aberdeen; her daughters, Melissa (Mark) Wika of Pierpont, SD and Jody (Paul) Haar of Aberdeen; her son, Brad Schwiegert (Karen King) of Huron, SD; seven grandchildren: Lexi, Sami and Timmy Wika, Britini (Josh) De Haai, Levi (Kaitlyn) Haar, Collin Haar and Makiah Schweigert; one great-grandchild, Harper De Haai; and three sisters: Kim (Brad) Nack of Sioux Falls, SD, Kathy (Jim) Morcken of Minneapolis, MN and Brenda (Neil) Dobler of Topeka, KS.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Debra Bahl; her mother-in-law; and many aunts and uncles.
