I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Kosse's passing. He was among the many truly fine doctors I remember form growing up in Aberdeen, and a friend of all of us. I particularly remember hunting pheasants with him in the early/mid 1960's before I was old enough to carry a gun. He had a beautiful over and under shotgun that I was quite taken with. He kindly allowed me to admire it, and I spent the day as his and my Dad's bird dog. His kindness and interest in me that day set the tone for decades of my admiration of him as a doctor and a friend. I think he was pleased later when I was stationed in Germany, and came back able to hold a conversation with him in German. I have remembered him to my own Family now, and his memory will be honored always.

Please accept our most sincere condolences. Bill Taylor, Jr.

It was my fortune to know and work with Dr Kosse at St Luke's Hospital. He had a gift of not only being a competent physician but as President of the Medical Dental Staff being able to represent the Staff's concerns and recommendations to the hospital's Board and Administration in the most professional way. Men of his character are few and far between and he is remembered as a friend who spoke his mind .

Dear Betsy and family, you have my deepest sympathy. Karl was a wonderful man and a dear friend. I was privileged to know him at the Adult Day Center, I will forever cherish our conversation of his love for his Lubben Germany home, he spoke so proudly of. I loved his jokes of the chickens & the grapes, he really had me going. I will miss my friend, I will miss hearing him play the piano, and speaking of the love he had for his family. May God grant all of you peace now and the days ahead. Death can not take away our memories of Karl, I know I will see him again, and we will bake a cake for our Lord. Rest in peace my dear friend you will be missed!

Dr Kosse was a great help to me over the years in Aberdeen. We had many mutual patients both in urology and addiction problems. I enjoyed his very personal and historical insights into WW II Germany and I hope these will not be forgotten.

I have been praying for Karl since I saw him last week. I kind of had the feeling that something changed as he was always so upbeat, despite his challenges. Seeing him at the place that I volunteer twice a week has always been a blessing and I will dearly miss him. He was such a great story teller. I often wanted to record some of those stories of WWII, and other more fun stories. I am thinking of you, Betsy, and his family and little dog. May God comfort you during this time. It will be hard to go to the place I volunteer tomorrow and not see him there. No one told me he was in the hospital and we were closed Memorial Day. Love and prayers.
