Audrey Ann Greening was born August 5, 1936, in Webster, SD, to John and Elsie (Thiele) Greening.  She was raised and attended school in Waubay, SD.  Following graduation from Waubay High School, Audrey attended college in Huron, SD.  She later moved to Aberdeen, where she was employed at F & M Bank for several years.

Audrey was united in marriage to Alvin Dutenhoffer on February 19, 1966, in Aberdeen.  The couple made their home in Aberdeen until 1970 when they built their house and started to build their farm just outside of Aberdeen.  She was a town girl that became a farm wife.  In addition to being a homemaker, she worked with Al at their business, Dutenhoffer Construction, where Audrey was employed as the Office Manager.  After Al’s retirement in 2002, she continued to do the books for his retirement projects and farm operation.   Audrey continued to reside in Aberdeen until the time of her death.

Audrey was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen, where she was active in various activities.  She was also an avid card club member and enjoyed dancing.  Audrey always enjoyed visiting with family and friends any time any place.  Audrey lived for her grandkids.  She always had time for a game of hide and seek, to read a book, and a snuggle.  Her grandkids always brought a smile to her face.

Blessed to have shared in Audrey’s life are her husband, Alvin Dutenhoffer, her son, Colin (Denise) Dutenhoffer, and her daughter, Kari (Garrett) Hartwell, all of Aberdeen; as well as five grandchildren:  Ashlinn, Rayven, Cooper, Parker, and Joeseph.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her sister, and one infant granddaughter.
