Aaron R. Wahl

Funeral service for Aaron R. Wahl, 90, of Aberdeen will be 10:30am Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen. Pastor Brian LaCroix of Aberdeen Wesleyan Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday, January 13, 2012 and one hour prior to the service Saturday all at the mortuary. Friends may sign his online guest book at the bottom of the page.

Aaron passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

Aaron R. Wahl was born November 1, 1921 to Edward and Amelia (Neiffer) Wahl on the family farm near Java, SD where he was raised and graduated from Java High School in 1939. He farmed with his parents for several years.

Aaron married Florence D. Kulm May 7, 1944 at Akaska, SD. They continued farming in the Java Area.

They moved to Aberdeen in 1952. Aaron started working for Hub City Iron Company which later became Safeguard Power Tech. He worked in the shipping department for over thirty years. He retired in 1986 and has continued to make Aberdeen his home. He lived with his son and daughter-in-law at Richmond Lake for many years and has been a resident of Aberdeen Health and Rehab since 2006.

Aaron enjoyed fishing, playing pool and ball in his earlier years and watching Lawrence Welk, The Price is Right and Opra Shows on TV.

Surviving Aaron are two sons, Lanny (Kathy) Wahl of Richmond Lake and Timothy Wahl of Rapid City, SD, one daughter, Sandra (Conrad) Perovich of Rapid City, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Aaron was preceded in death by her parents and his wife Florence in 1985.
