Donald Edwin Thompson, Jr.

Memorial service for Donald Edwin Thompson, Jr., 69, Aberdeen, will be 10:00am Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW.  Father Kevin Zilverberg of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate.  Burial of his cremated remains will be at a late date in the Cashion Cemetery, Cashion, OK.

Donald passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen, SD.

Donald Edwin Thompson was born September 16, 1941 to Donald Edwin and Willene (Loewen) Thompson, Sr. in Guthrie, OK.  He graduated from Guthrie High School and then entered the US Army.  Donald attended the University of Nebraska for three years.

Donald and Roberta Strickland were untied in marriage September 11, 1980 in Sioux Falls, SD.  After 26years of service, Donald received his honorable discharge from the Army.  He was employed with Ken's Fairway for the past several years. Don enjoyed his time with his grandkids and his dogs, Nick and Peanut.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving Don is his wife, Roberta, of Aberdeen, SD, one step son, John (Michelle) Forst of Omaha, NE, one step daughter, Sonja Vicamontes of Austin, TX, five grandchildren, Andy, Isabel, Genevieve, Chanley and Megan, one sister, Linda (Ron) McDuff of Denver, CO, his brother in law, Tim (Joyce) Strickland of Aberdeen, SD, nephews, Tom Strickland and David McDuff, and his niece, Tracey McDuff.
