A private graveside service for Violet Stellner, 95, of Park Forest, IL. formerly of Aberdeen, SD, will be held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Aberdeen. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW is in charge of arrangements.
Violet passed away December 25, 2010 at home in Illinois.
Violet was born August 21, 1915 to R.R. & Anna (Munson) Knox in Stratford, SD. She attended country school just down the road and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School at the age of 16. She then attended business college in Aberdeen and received a certificate.
Violet and A.W. "Mike" Stellner were united in marriage August 27, 1938 in Watertown, SD. They lived and farmed in Highland Township, southwest of Aberdeen, for many years. She worked at Marland Beauty Shop as a receptionist and at her husband's insurance agency as a receptionist with administrative duties. She and her husband spent the winter months in Mission, Texas, for 14 seasons.
Surviving Violet include two daughters, Theresa A. Piper of Mandan, N.D. and Marcia K. (late Robert) Gust of Park Forest, IL, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson and three brothers, George, Carroll and Richard Stellner.
