Peggy passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Memory Care Unit at Waterford at All Saints in Sioux Falls, SD.

Peggy was born September 9, 1931 to William and Bertha (Callison) Dage in Westport, SD. She attended school in Westport and met her future husband, Leon Schaunaman, when she was 15 years old. On April 8, 1950, she married the love of her life and moved to a farm near Westport, where they lived until Leon passed away in 2006. Peggy moved to Sioux Falls in 2009 due tohealth problems.

In the early years, Peggy farmed along with Leon and later helped when she could as the girls got older. The girls joke that their best "family time" was spent chasing cows and picking rocks together. Peggy and Leon felt very blessed with their family and often said that the best times of their lives were when they were raising their kids,

Peggy was loved by her four daughters Gail (Stan) Hanson of Garretson, SD, Lila (John) Retzer of Omaha, NE, Jill (Paul Burns) Schaunaman of Bozeman, MT, and Kelli Schaunaman of Aberdeen, SD; brother Larry Dage and sister Cheryle Dage Green; grandchildren Ross and Maren Hanson, Liz Moss, Ben Retzer, Andy and Peter Burns, two great-grandchildren Cody Weitzel and Emma Hanson and numerous Schaunaman relatives.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon, and a brother Dick Dage.
