Anna Elizabeth "Ann" Russell

Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Elizabeth "Ann" Russell, 83, of Aberdeen will be 10:30 am, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Fr. Shaun Haggerty will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Aberdeen. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

Liturgical Wake will be 7 pm, Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the mortuary. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Wednesday at the mortuary, and one hour prior to the mass on Thursday at the church. Friends may sign her online guest book at the bottom of the page.

Ann passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor.

Anna Elizabeth Cogley was born March 24, 1928 to James F. and Lily May (Jones) Cogley at Aberdeen were she was raised, attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.

Ann married Richard L. Russell October 25, 1952 at Aberdeen. Ann worked at F.W. Woolworths, Heintzman Grocery, St. Luke's Hospital and Milbrandt and Grote Company.

Richard passed away in 2004 and Ann has continued to make Aberdeen her home.

Ann was a life long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was active in the Altar Society serving as Secretary and later as President.

Surviving Ann are one son, Richard (Virginia) Russell of Columbia, two sisters, Joan (Pat) Sullivan of Albert Lee, MN and Rita Holzer of Spokane, WA, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and one brother.
