Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes M. Rausch, 89, of Aberdeen, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 502 2nd Ave SE, Aberdeen with Father Shane Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Aberdeen. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Ave NW, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Liturgical wake service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at the mortuary. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday, at the church. Friends may sign her online guest book at the bottom of the page.
Agnes passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab. Blessed be her memory.
Agnes M. Glodt was born on October 18, 1922 to Nicholas and Grace (Gear) Glodt at Gettysburg, SD. This is the area where she was raised, attended school and graduated from Gettysburg High School with the Class of 1942.
Agnes was united in marriage to Donald Rausch on October 16, 1946 at Gettysburg. Their union was blessed with three children, Kenneth, Allen and Donna. The family farmed west of Hoven, SD for many years. Agnes was employed as a Bookkeeper for the Gettysburg Milling Company for several years. They retired from farming in 1989 and they relocated to Aberdeen at that time. Agnes became a resident of Aberdeen Health and Rehab in November of 2010 and continued to reside there until the time of her death.
Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen. While living in the Hoven area, she served as President of the Altar Society and Vice President of the Catholic Order of Foresters for seventeen years.
Agnes enjoyed dancing, playing cards and completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She especially loved attending her grandchildren's school activities and extra-curricular events. Agnes was a wonderful baker and will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin pies.
Surviving Agnes are her husband of 65 years, Donald Rausch; children, Kenneth Rausch of Pierre, SD, Allen Rausch of Brandon, SD and Donna Pence of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren, Brian Rausch of Denham Springs, LA, Brandon Rausch of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Brittany (Dan) McDonald of Pierre, SD, Pam (Jason) Ellwein of Roscoe, SD, Jessica Rausch of Minneapolis, MN, Jamie Pence of Aberdeen, Trevor Pence of Ames, IA and Sadie Pence of Brookings, SD; one brother, Harold "Pat" (Carrie) Glodt of Gettysburg and one sister, Lucille (Neil) Christensen of Salem, OR.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lawrence Glodt and two daughters-in law, Jane Rausch and Kim Rausch.
