Lester E. "Les" Milbrandt

Funeral service for Lester E. "Les" Milbrandt, 91, of Aberdeen, will be 10:30am Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Aberdeen.  Pastor Jais H. Tinglund will be officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery rural Columbia. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is 5-7pm Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.  Friends may sign his online guest book at the bottom of the page.

Les passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

Lester Edwin Milbrandt was born June 5, 1919 to Richard and Anna (Kluck) Milbrandt at Westport, SD where he was raised and attended school.  He worked at his brother's farm near Columbia for several years.

Les married Iva M. Seagren April 29, 1945 at Port Ochard, WA.  They returned to Aberdeen where he was employed with McKever Press as a salesman.  He later owned and operated his own business in Aberdeen for many years. Les was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He gained the permission of many area land owners to access their property for hunting.

Surviving Les are his wife, Iva of Aberdeen, two daughters, Debra (Rod) Mack of Aberdeen and Constance Weisenburger of Bismarck, ND, two sons, Kirk Milbrandt of Aberdeen and Dennis (Barb) Milbrandt of Huron, SD, one sister, Doris Hansen of Aberdeen, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Les was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ervin and Donald and an infant brother, Emery.
