Mass of Christian Burial for Vera C. Masters, 98, of Aberdeen will be 3:00pm, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Burial will be 11:30am Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Humbolt, SD. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church, Thursday. Friends may sign her online guest book at the bottom of the page.
Vera passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.
Vera C. Masters was born January 15, 1913 to Claude Bartine and Susan (Menth) Masters at Humboldt, SD where she was raised and graduated from high school. She continued with her education attendeding several different colleges and received a Masters Degree in Education and Counseling.
Vera later moved to Aberdeen and was a teacher at Aberdeen Central High School for many years.
Vera Loved to travel and she traveled all over the world.
Vera is survived by one sister, Sister Lorraine Masters of Huntington, IN, one niece, Mary Gapp, four nephews, Mark Masters, Gary Masters, Don Masters and Paul Hipschman and many great and great great great nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
