Mass of Christian Burial for Myrtis M. Lyke, 84, of Aberdeen and formerly Clark, will be 10:30am, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Clark. Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery at Clark.

Liturgical wake service will be 7:00pm Friday, June 17, 2011 at the church in Clark. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Myrtis passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at her daughter Pam (Tom) Schoenfelder?s home in El Dorada Hills, CA.

Myrtis Mary Urdahl was born September 24, 1926 to Oscar and Myrtle (Devine) Urdahl at Crocker, SD. The second of seven daughters.

She attended grade school in Crocker and graduated from Clark High School in 1944.

Myrtis married Robert J. Lyke on September 26, 1946 and made there home in Clark, SD. This marriage was blessed with nine children. Through out their life she lived in numerous locations.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends (especially grandkids) and wintering in Arizona and California.

Myrtis is survived by her children; Dennis (Judy) Lyke of Aberdeen, SD, Lon (Jeanne) Lyke of Aberdeen, SD, Lynnette Nichols of Shingle Springs, CA, Larry (Ina) Lyke of Wagner, SD, Cindy Vornhagen of Yankton, SD, Robert A. (Brenda) Lyke of Aberdeen, SD, Susan (Les) Walker of Shingle Springs, CA, Pam (Tom) Schoenfelder of El Dorado Hills, CA, Mary (Joey) Kaven of Aberdeen, SD, 32 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, three sisters; Kathleen Mehlberg of Rapid City, SD, Donna Hanchett of Clark, SD and Jacky Peckham of Clark, SD, one brother-in-law, Kenny Karber and sister-in-law Lari (Jim) Marin of Mobridge, SD.

Myrtis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert J. Lyke in September of 1996, son-in-law, Ralph Vornhagen, granddaughters, Terri Lynn Ritter, Angel Ritter and Dawn Vornhagen, great-grandchildren, Austin Lyke, Ty Vornhagen, Rena Vornhagen and Eleazar Pinto.
