Mass of Christian Burial for Esther Sophie Lingor, 82, Aberdeen, will be 10:30am Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Ave. NE, with Father J. Joseph Holzhauser officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Liturgical wake service will be 7pm Tuesday, January 4, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW. Visitation will be 4-7pm Tuesday, at the mortuary and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church.
Esther passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor Retirement Community, Aberdeen.
Esther was born June 28, 1928 to Otto and Elsbeth (Wagner) Dahme on the family farm in the Columbia area. They moved to Westport, SD, and she attended school in Barnard, SD and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.
Esther and Daniel Wayne Lingor were united in marriage June 18, 1949 in Aberdeen, SD. They made their home in Aberdeen where she raised her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Esther enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and her yard.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, her daughter in law, Pam Lingor, and several brothers and sisters.
Grateful to have shared Esther's life are her children, Dan (Jean) Lingor of Mina Lake, SD, Doug (Robbie) Lingor of Jacksonville, Fl, Patti Maunu of Sioux Falls, SD, Greg Lingor, Sharon (Dennis) Ragels, Carol (Randy) Pueppke all of Aberdeen, SD, David (Shelly) Lingor of Ponte Vedra, Fl, and Roger (Laurie) Lingor of Rapid City, SD. Eighteen grandchildren, Nicole (Andy) Carr, Janell (Brad) Pinkman, Amber (Greg) Stone, Melissa (Steve) Roettger, Jody (Brad) Schweigert, Mike (Cathy) Maunu, Jason (Amanda) Maunu, Michelle (Heath) Steineke, Jeremy Pueppke, Nathan Pueppke, Jon (Michelle) Lingor, Dr. Ryan Lingor, Matthew Ragels, Jennifer Ragels, Tyler Lingor, Nicholas Lingor, Luke Lingor and Sam Lingor, and fifteen great grandchildren. One sister, Elvera Schaeffer of Aberdeen, one sister in law, Barbara Dahme, four brothers, Howard (Arlowine) Dahme, Orville (Doris) Dahme, Earl Dahme and Arthur (Joyce) Dahme.
