Alice Helen Grytness

Mass of Christian Burial for Alice Helen Grytness, 88, Aberdeen, will be 10am Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Ave. NE.  Father Jeff Norfolk will celebrate the Mass.  Burial at a later date will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Liturgical wake service will be 4pm Tuesday, March 22, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW.  Visitation is 2-7pm Tuesday, at the mortuary and one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church.

Alice passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen.

Alice was born November 17, 1922 to Sebastian and Eva (Miller) Engelhart in Aberdeen, SD.  She attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Aberdeen Central High in 1940.  Alice was employed with Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance for 16 years. Alice and LeRoy "Roy" A. Grytness were united in marriage September 12, 1953 in Aberdeen, where they continued to make their home.

She is preceded in death by her husband in March of 1995, one brother, Joseph and one sister, Frances Gross.

Surviving Alice is her daughter, Kristi (Dave) Martinson of Brooklyn Park, MN, and two granddaughters, Jessica and Lindsey Martinson.
